Echobox Finder X1 - Design

First of all I would like to thank Echobox for reaching out to me and sending the Finder X1 for review. I had never heard about the brand before, but was made aware about their Indiegogo campaign through a quick Google search.

The earphones are available through Echobox’s website for $199, which translates to around £140. The problem for people outside the US, including myself is the fact that you’ll probably have to pay a hefty customs and import fee on top of the price tag, which might mean the earphones will end up costing you over £180, rather than £140.

Just for the sake of simplicity I’ll be reviewing them at the £140 price tag, but do bear in mind their availability and the limitations of getting them in your country.

DUNU Titan 5 - Design

First of all I would like to thank DUNU for sending me the Titan 5 for review. After having reviewed their younger brothers the DUNU Titan 1 and also having heard the extremely impressive DUNU DN-2000, I was very intrigued to hear the DUNU Titan 5. As a note the Titan 1 and DN-2000 in their respective price points (and above) are one of my most recommended earphones. Due to the pure bang for buck you get for them, there’s barely many better earphones that these two, so I wanted to see if the Titan 5 would dethrone the Titan 1 or even give the DN-2000 a run for their money!

The Titan 5 can be purchased from AmazonUK for around £100 and AmazonUSA for $135.

Pump Audio V2 Earphones - Looks

First of all I would like to thank Pump Audio for reaching out to send me their latest earphones, the Pump Audio V2 Earphones. They can be found for £69 on AmazonUK and at $99 on AmazonUSA, alternatively you can buy them directly from Pump Audio’s site.

When I first saw these crop up in my inbox, I was extremely sceptical about them, mainly because I hadn’t heard of the brand before and that these earphones looked like yet another earphone that put design over sound, with its bright orange colour scheme (in fairness orange is one of my favourite colours).

I was therefore interested to hear how it would compare to the FIDUE A65 which can be found for around £50, or even against other earphones like the cheaper SoundMAGIC E10s that can now be found for around £30 and even the more expensive DUNU Titan 1 that can be found for £90, all presented an interesting battleground for the Pump Audio V2 Earphones.

Here’s my video review of the earphones:

Antlion Audio ModMic 4.0 Onni-Directional Review – A comparison with the Uni-Directional ModMic

Pros: Better overall recording quality over the Uni-Directional ModMic, less popping sounds, can be fitted on any headphone, packaging and accessories, flawless mute functionality, cable length
Cons: Picks up more external sound than the Uni-Directional ModMic, cable gets tangled, needs a (cheap) soundcard to work without static noise, slightly more sensitive than the Uni-Directional ModMic

Review price: £46

Antlion ModMic 4.0 Omni - Headphones

First of all I would like to thank Antlion for sending me the Omni-Directional mic for review, after having reviewed the Uni-Directional ModMic 4.0, I was really intrigued to know the differences both in terms of the updated overall package and what the Omni-Directional ModMic 4.0 could offer. The Omni-Directional ModMic can be found for £46 on AmazonUK and $55 on AmazonUSA. I opted to receive the version that had the mute switch.

Furthermore, Antlion also sent me their USB soundcard for review, which I’ll also briefly mention in this review! It can be picked up for $10 on their site.

In order to give you a live-recording of the two ModMics, I suggest watching my video:

FIDUE A65 - Build quality

First of all I would like to thank Mark from KS Distribution for sending me the FIDUE A65 (pronounced: Fid-oo). They can be found for £50 on AmazonUK and at $65 on AmazonUSA.
Given I’ve heard quite a few things about FIDUE, I was curious to see how they would sound and compare to some earphones I had around the house. Mainly my all-time favourite under £50 earphones, the Fischer Audio Consonance (which has disappeared off the face of the earth due to being discontinued). I was therefore intrigued to see how they would compare to the FA’s and also to the cheaper SoundMAGIC E10s that can now be found for around £30 and something that’s more expensive, such as the DUNU Titan 1 that can be found for £90.

Here’s my video review of the earphones:
