How to use Check Fus for downloading and checking stock firmware on Android devices

Check Fus is a great way to quickly check, without even downloading, the latest official firmware for your region. This is very helpful for knowing what you got shipped, and what version you should download, and flash to get back to stock, in order to send it in for warranty.

This will only DOWNLOAD the ROM, and NOT flash it. To flash it, you will have to use ODIN, and the appropriate way of flashing it (for your phone).

You mean you want OFFICIAL rom on KIES?
Why would you want kies? and then flash…anyway beyond me.
Long story short: Check your CSC -> change it to your region = done.

            I don’t know what you’ve done…bricked it?

Flash a stock firmware that’s listed via check fus, and ignore kies, as if you flash via check fus, it updates you to the LATEST stock firmware

yes, i looked at your video again and saw that the mistake was in kies, i forgot to close it
also now when i flashed it i have unchecked the RE-PARTITION box in odin, what does that stands for exactly and do i need to flash it again with re-partition box checked this time

Hi, I’ve used this to download JW4 for the i9000, what I got in the download was just 1 tar file, do I just assign that to the PDA box in Odin and flash? I also have a file from a previous flash called ‘s1_odin_20100512.pit’ should I use that as my PIT?
    Thanks

      Indeed – all correct!
Put that 512.pit file in PIT, make sure repartition is ticked.
Then in PDA, put that JW4.tar file – put the phone in download mode, connect it up – hit start – and hey presto! 🙂

Thanks, did that and now it’s stuck in a boot loop, by the way I’m coming from a fresh JVT (from your other video). After the flash it showed some scrolling text on my screen and there was some red error messages about being unable to copy media files…Any suggestions? Thanks

      Hey there,
First of all, i don’t know why you want to zip it. The files are made to be unzipped and put in odin.
As for the donation, try sending them a email (can be found via Google)

Hi just tried to use this program to get the firmware for the GT-P5110 – P5110TSABTU/P5110XXBLH3 (BTU). sorry to say this doesn’t work at all even when I choose a different type of phone or tablet. I assume this is no good for Samsung then.
